Aeronautical Engineering - Vision and Mission


  • The Department of Aeronautical Engineering will strive and achieve the global recognition as a centre of Excellence by imparting quality education: leading to, graduates becoming professionals with specialized knowledge in Aeronautical Engineering.


  • To prepare the students to acquire good fundamental knowledge in various fields of Aeronautical Engineering, develop problem solving skills and learn application oriented concepts.
  • To prepare the students to have good social, moral and ethical values.
  • To provide conducive environment to enhance the potential for sponsored research and consultancy projects.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

    The graduates few years after graduation will be able to:
  • Apply the knowledge of basic sciences and mathematics, along with Aeronautical Engineering principles and practices to provide the solutions for industrial problems.

  • Handle appropriate techniques, resources and engineering modern tools and develop confidence to work in teams of multi disciplinary projects.

  • Exhibit professional and ethical attitude and leadership qualities.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

    On successful completion of the course, the student will have the :


  • Ability to apply knowledge of Mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and the concepts of Aeronautical Engineering to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Ability to identify, formulate and analyse Aeronautical Engineering problems using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • Ability to design system components that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the safety and environmental considerations.
  • Ability to conduct investigations of complex problems in the field of Aeronautical Engineering that require consideration of appropriate constraints/requirement.
  • Ability to use computational tools to solve problems relevant to Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to assess societal, safety, legal issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and need for sustainable development.
  • Ability to apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Aeronautical Engineering practices.
  • Ability to function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary fields of Aeronautical Engineering.
