Faculty Description

Dr. Dhiviyalakshmi L received her Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai, under the Faculty of Technology, with research focused on the surface modification of natural fibers, and obtained her M.Tech. in Nanotechnology from Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. She has over 18 years of teaching experience in Biomedical Engineering and has made significant contributions to academic excellence, research, innovation, and student mentorship. She received grant support through the AICTE YUKTI Innovation Challenge in 2024 and was recognized among the Top 8 Womenpreneurs for Bharat 2.0 by PIEDS, Pilani. She served as a mentor for the award-winning project at the Smart India Hackathon (Hardware Edition) 2019, Telangana (South Zone), for the problem statement "Continuous Monitoring and Control of Intravenous Fluid." She also mentored the project titled "Audio Visual Entrainment and Acupressure Therapy for Insomnia," which received the ICTACT Best Student Innovative Project Award 2015 and the ISTE Manakula Vinayagar Best Student Innovation Project Award 2015. Her research interests include pain management, rehabilitation engineering, biomedical instrumentation, and healthcare innovations. She has published 17 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters with reputed publishers. She also holds a product Intellectual Property Right (IPR) and a design patent. She is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and has been serving as the Member and Faculty Coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering Society of India (BMESI), SREC Student Chapter, since its inception in 2012.
