Dr. Deepa B. Prabhu

Faculty Description

Dr. Deepa B. Prabhu received her Ph.D. in Technology in the field of Biomaterials from the faculty of Technology at Anna University in 2021. She is graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Calicut (2002), with a Masters’ degree in Nano Technology from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore (2013). Dr. Prabhu is the recipient of the TARE fellowship of DST-Science and Engineering Research Board to carry out post-doctoral research at IIT Madras, Chennai. She received the DST Woman Scientist-A fellowship for the period 2014 – ’17 for her project on “Stress corrosion cracking of thermodynamically designed Mg alloys for biomedical implants”. She is a life member of the Institution of Engineers (India), the Instrument Society of India, Indian Society of Technical Education, Institution of Engineers (India), Biomedical Engineering Society of India, IEEE & IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (India). Her research domains include resorbable biomaterials and nano materials, coatings for corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity, instrumentation engineering and medical data analytics.
