Faculty Description

Prof. Sathish Kumar Nagarajan Professor and Head in Department of Biomedical Engineering Department, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore-22,TN and Head for Centre for Continuing Education is an accommodating and versatile individual with over 25 years of teaching and research experience with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development. He has obtained his post doctoral research experiences through INSA visiting Scientist fellowship Scheme 2022-2023 at GSSS, IITKGP, Kharaghpur, West Bengal, under the guidance of Prof.Dr.Debrathi sen.

He received his Ph.D degree from ANNA University, Chennai in the Field of MIMO Receivers-Wireless Communication. He completed his Master’s degree (Applied Electronics) programme from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.He has received the Appreciation award 'Confederation of Elite Academician IICDC' from TI, AICTE,DST for the year 2019. He has received Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Award for scientific excellence for the year 2018 and 2016 from Marina R and D labs, Chennai. He received Research shining star award and best Research Supervisor Award for his research contribution from the Institution.

His great zeal towards research has fetched him a fund of INR 13.5 Lakhs from AICTE, under Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) for 3 years from the academic year 2019-2023. He has successfully completed 3 AICTE grants namely, AICTE RPS for INR 8.5 lakhs, AICTE MODROBINR 9.1 Lakhs and AICTE STTP for INR 7 Lakhs respectively organising Secretary for Governing Council Meet, member in IQAC, Member in BOS. He is also a Doctoral Committee member for 3 Research scholars. He has filed four patents and 3 copyrights to the credits of Intellectual property rights. He has presented a paper in IEEE TENCON International Conference held in Singapore and also chaired a Session on IoT.

He is a recognized research supervisor for guiding Ph.D from ANNA University Chennai.He has successfully guided 8 Ph.D research scholars for the award of Ph.D degree from ANNA university Chennai, and 8 are currently pursuing their Ph.D. He has organized many conferences, workshops and Faculty Development Programs which have received funding from national bodies such as IEEE chapters, IETE, ISTE, ISRO, DRDO, National Instruments. He has published 10 papers in National conference and 5 in the international conference and 41 papers in reputed national and international journals. He has won Three Best Paper awards for his research. He is a member in various professional societies like SMIEEE (USA), IEANG, IETE, ISTE and SSI.

As a Principal investigator he has completed the industrial consultancy work to Karma Innovation, Coimbatore to a tune of 5 Lakhs. He has guided 24 UG projects and 8 PG projects. He has participated in many workshops and FDPs. He has been the reviewer of Tata McGraw Hill publications, New Delhi. He has authored a book titled A Course Material with CD Rom on Microprocessor and MicroController Published by Sona Varsity, Salem and on “Soft Computing”. He also has published 2 mono graphs on Workshop practices for engineering students and lab work.

His research Interests includes Medical imaging, Industrial Automation, Wireless Communication, Bio Signal Medical Processing, Mathematical modelling of Systems, Analog Electronics, Digital Image Processing,5G and 6G,Health care technologies & Computer Vision. He is a trained auditor for ISO 9001:2015 and Outcome Based Education and Accreditation. He is familiar with software packages including Materials Studio, Matlab, LabVIEW, Scientific Python packages, COMSOL, kit etc and applies AI and ICT tools for teaching learning- Process.
