Ms.R.S.Karthika Shivaani

Faculty Description

R.S.Karthika Shivaani  is a passionate biomedical engineer and educator who has recently begun her career as an Assistant Professor. Her research interest focus on medical image analysis and biomaterials. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in B.E. Biomedical Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, in 2023 and her Master’s degree in M.Tech Biomedical Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, in 2025. She has worked on multiple deep learning frameworks for medical image classification and segmentation, and developed innovative solutions such as diabetic wound healing bandages with zinc oxide nanoparticles. She has been recognized as a semi-finalist in the Tamil Nadu Student Innovators (TNSI) 2021 and the GE Precision Healthcare Innovation Challenge 2022. She has obtained an elite NPTEL certification on ‘Microsensors, Implantable Devices and Rodent Surgeries for Biomedical Application’.
