Srividhyasakthi.V Assistant Professor, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College was Appreciated under SRISTI Socially Relevant Innovation Category for Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2016 for the work entitled “An Indigenous Oxygen Dosing Device to Conserve Oxygen using Patient Monitoring System” which is her post graduate project done at Rajalakshmi Engineering College with Internship at Aries Biomed Technology Pvt Ltd. She Received Award at the hands of Dr. R A Mashelkar, FRS,FREng, FIChemE, Padma Vibhushan Padma Bhushan, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awardee. Chairperson, National Innovation Foundation (NIF) - India, at Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on March 13, 2016 in the presence of Prof. Krishnaswamy Vijay Raghavan, Secretary of Department of Biotechnology, Prof. Anil K Gupta, Vice-Chairperson NIF & Founder Honey Bee Network, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Dr. Renu Swarup, MD, BIRAC and Adviser, DBT, Shri Jayant Krishna, Chief Executive Officer, National Skill Development Corporation; Dr. Ashish Nanda, Director, IIM Ahmedabad; Mr. Stefan Bock, Head of Innovation Lab, UNICEF Global Innovation Center and other dignitaries from India and abroad.. It is a Society for Research and Initiatives for sustainable Technologies and Institutions (SRISTI) initiative to foster youth driven innovations with the legends of Science and Innovation. This project aims to improve effectiveness of oxygen therapy given by reducing therapy cost. This device can be used in home, hospital, scuba drivers, Military persons and astronauts such that they can carry small cylinder with them.Â
