Dr. P. MATHIYALAGAN

Faculty Description

Dr. P. Mathiyalagan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, India, with over 21 years of distinguished experience in teaching, research, innovation, and academic leadership. He received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from PSG College of Technology and is a recognized Ph.D. Research Supervisor under Anna University, Chennai. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Cloud Computing, and Quantum Computing. He has successfully supervised 2 Ph.D. scholars, is currently guiding 3 Ph.D. research scholars, and has guided 25 postgraduate and 50 undergraduate research projects. He has authored 21 international journal publications, 12 international conference papers, and 5 book chapters published by leading international publishers, including Taylor & Francis, IOS Press, Inder -science, ICTACT, Springer, Elsevier, CRC Press, and Cambridge University Press. His research contributions have been recognized through several prestigious honours, including the Google Research Cloud Grant (USD 5,000), multiple IEEE International Travel Grants, the Research Shining Star Award, and the Best Project Mentor Award. He actively contributes to the global research community as a reviewer for reputed international journals, IEEE conferences, and research funding proposals, while continuing to advance research and innovation through academic and industry collaborations.  

Dr. Mathiyalagan actively contributes to the international research community as a reviewer for reputed journals published by Springer Nature, Elsevier, SAGE Publications, Inderscience, and IEEE. He also serves as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member and reviewer for several IEEE and international conferences. He has successfully organized numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and Faculty Development Programmes in collaboration with Google, IBM Research, Intel, NVIDIA, DRDO, IITs, and other premier organizations. As Professor, Bureau of Overseas Education, he leads initiatives in international academic collaborations, student mobility, and strategic partnerships with leading universities and research institutions worldwide. His sustained contributions to research, academic leadership, industry–academia collaboration, and global engagement continue to strengthen engineering education and promote innovation-driven solutions for real world challenges.
