Faculty Description

N. Susila is currently working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. She has a total experience of 24 years.

She joined as a Lecturer at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai in the year 2001 and worked there for 5.5 years. In her career span of 18 years at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, she held various positions like Dean – Emerging Technology, Controller of Examinations, Professor and Head of Information Technology Department.

She has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women, Bharathidasan University in the year 2001. She has completed her Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in the year 2005 as a 9th Rank Holder. She has completed her Ph.D. in the field of Information and Communication Engineering in the area of Cloud Computing in the year 2017.

She has published various papers in International Journals and Conferences. She has submitted various project proposals under various schemes of DST STI Hub, FIST, SATYAM, SERB, AQIS (AICTE), WOS, WTP and TIDE. She has published over 30 papers in refereed national and international journals and conferences, published 13 books/book chapters, and 5 patents.

She is an Innovation Ambassador of Institution Innovation Council and a NITTTR mentor at SKCET. She has received various awards, and to name a few: National Cloud Champion Coordinator by AWS Educate, National Winner Coordinator – Learnathon, and Best Coordinator for Skill Edge Technological Foundation Courses.

She has authored various books and book chapters with reputed publishers like Elsevier, CRC Press, IET, IGI Global, etc.

She has received grants from various funding agencies like AICTE, ICMR and DXC Technologies for organizing National and International Level Conferences, Workshops, and Women Empowerment Programs.

She has mentored a project titled “INTELLBOT” for the 2000–2004 batch students, which won the FIRST PRIZE in Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Delhi. She has mentored a project titled “Voice-Based Automated Wheel Chair for Handicapped” for the 2009 batch students, which was awarded a grant of Rs. 5000 from the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology.

She received the “Best Faculty Award” for the Year 2015 at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.

She has published a book chapter titled “Impact of Cloud Security in Digital Twin” in the book series “ADCOM – The Digital Twin Paradigm for Smarter Systems and Environments: The Industry Use Cases”, VOL 117, Advances in Computers, Elsevier.

She has organized various workshops, faculty development programs, and National Level Conferences such as NCCCIS and NCRAC in association with IEEE, AICTE, ICMR, etc.

She organized the first edition of TEDx SKCET at SKCET. Being the college-level ICT Academy coordinator, she has organized various Power Seminars, FDPs, Learnathon contests, and initiated different Centers of Excellence in association with Dell EMC, VMware, Zoho, RHA, etc.

She mentored the team AGCoderz, who got the First Prize worth Rs. 1,00,000 in the Zoho Appathon Contest.

She has published a book titled "Data Structures" along with Dr. T. Sheela.

She is acting as Reviewer for several International journals like Expert Systems, Wiley, etc. She served as Academic Jury Member for Youth Talk – ICT Academy, Reviewer and Session Chair for various National and International Conferences.

She has obtained various universal certifications from different forums like Nasscom Future Skills, Coding Ninjas, edX, Coursera, etc.

She is a member of different professional societies like ISTE, IAENG and IFERP.
