Dr.
B. Pranesh is an accomplished academician with over 16 years of teaching
experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Engineering
Design and Advanced Materials. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
from Anna University, Chennai, with research specialization in friction stir
welding and processing.
His
research focuses on advanced manufacturing, friction stir welding and
processing, lightweight magnesium alloys, sustainable polymer composites,
surface engineering, corrosion engineering, tribology and advanced materials
characterization. He has published seven research articles in reputed SCI/Web
of Science-indexed international journals and has also contributed to
conference proceedings, patents and externally funded research projects. He has
undertaken industry consultancy assignments for Pricol Ltd. and LTTS Bengaluru
and actively collaborates with national and international institutions.
His
professional journey reflects a strong blend of teaching, research and
institutional service. Dr. Pranesh has handled a wide range of undergraduate
and postgraduate courses and has contributed extensively to academic
administration by serving as an NBA and NAAC Coordinator, Department File
In-charge, Examination Coordinator, Alumni Secretary and MHRD Innovation
Ambassador. He has successfully organized several national-level technical
events, faculty development programmes, workshops, hackathons and guest
lectures.
His
technical expertise includes Fusion 360, Creo, ANSYS, MATLAB, NX CAM and CNC
technologies. He has successfully completed numerous certification courses
through NPTEL, Coursera, edX and Tata Steel and has participated in more than
25 faculty development programmes and workshops conducted by IITs, NITs and
other premier institutions.
Dr.
Pranesh is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE),
Indian Welding Society (IWS) and the Institution of Engineers (India). He also
serves as a resource person, reviewer and jury member for various academic and
technical events, reflecting his continued commitment to engineering education,
research, innovation and professional development.
