Faculty Description

Dr. A. Vadivel is an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (Autonomous), Coimbatore. He obtained his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Mahendra Engineering College, Namakkal (Anna University) in 2007 and his M.E. in Thermal Engineering with First Class with Distinction from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore (Anna University) in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University and he is a Recognized Research Supervisor of Anna University (Supervisor Recognition No. 4320005).

He has over 16 years of Academic Experience and One year of Industrial Experience in Mechanical Engineering Education, Research, and Student Mentoring. His research interests include Alternative Fuels, Internal Combustion Engines, Thermal Engineering, Vehicle Dynamics, Electric Vehicles, Battery Thermal Management Systems, Sustainable Automotive Energy Systems, and Hydrogen Energy Technologies.

Dr. A. Vadivel has published more than 20 research papers in reputed SCI/SCIE/Scopus-indexed journals and has established a strong research profile with publications in leading international journals. He serves as a Reviewer for several reputed International Journals in the areas of Mechanical engineering, Energy, and Sustainable Automotive Technologies.

His research and innovation activities have resulted in granted One Indian Utility Patent and One Indian Design Patent, along with multiple published patent applications developed in collaboration with students. He actively undertakes innovative projects in Electric Mobility, Sustainable Transportation, and Automotive Product Development.

As the Faculty Advisor of the SAESREC Collegiate Club, Dr. A. Vadivel has successfully mentored student teams in the Design and Development of BAJA All-Terrain Vehicle, Go-kart, Electric Two-Wheeler, Efficycle, Hybrid Tricycle, and Campus Utility Battery Powered Electric Vehicle. Under his guidance, student teams have won numerous accolades in prestigious National-level Automotive Competitions, demonstrating Excellence in Vehicle Design, Innovation, and Engineering Practice.

He has organized numerous Technical Workshops, Guest Lectures, Hands-on Training, Industrial Visits, Student Conventions, and Outreach activities to enhance practical learning and industry interaction. He has also contributed significantly to Departmental Quality Initiatives, Laboratory Development, and Student Professional Development.

Dr. A.Vadivel has received several prestigious recognitions including the SAEINDIA Best Professional Member Award, SAEINDIA Leadership Award, Dronacharya Award (Best Faculty Mentor), SAEINDIA Best Volunteer Award, Best Researcher Award, and Best Paper Award. He currently serves as the Treasurer and Division Management Committee Member of SAEINDIA Southern Section, Coimbatore Division contributing to professional engineering activities and industry–academia collaboration.
