Faculty Description

Dr. T. Velmurugan is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College from Jun 2015 onwards. He completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Mahendra Engineering College, Namakkal Dt. (Periyar University) in the year 2004 and M.E. (First Class with Distinction) in Engineering Design from Regional Centre of Anna University Coimbatore (Anna University) in the year 2013. He completed his doctorate at Anna University under the guidance of Dr. R. Subramanian, Professor/PSG College of Technology. He has 17 years of teaching experience and 5 years of Industrial experience.

            His research interests include Composite Materials and New Product Development. He has published nearly 15 articles in the SCI and Scopus indexed papers and attended International and National Conferences, Faculty Development Programs, workshops and seminars at various reputed Institutions and organizations. He has delivered guest lectures in Industry and a few engineering colleges. He has conducted an online course on 3D Printing Applications and Technologies for various participants from school, polytechnics and engineering colleges.

            He has completed Industry consultancy work in a team for various Industries like Ms. Pricol Limited, L&T Technology Services, Bimetal Bearings Ltd., Indoshell cast private Ltd., Roots Multiclean Division in the area of Designing, Machine Vision System. He has filed two patents along with students and Faculty from other engineering colleges. He has organized workshops and a National level conference in SREC.
