SLB, a global technology company headquartered in Houston, USA, with a Technology Center in Coimbatore, is at the forefront of driving energy innovation. Their expertise lies in pioneering advancements in oil and gas, implementing large-scale digital solutions, decarbonizing industries, and developing and scaling new energy systems to accelerate the energy transition. As part of their collaboration with Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College's Department of Nano Science and Technology in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, SLB has established an elastomer seal test facility. This SLB-SREC Elastomer Lab is a unique and significant addition to an educational institution, providing the opportunity to conduct elastomer research, testing, and validation of age-related properties in line with SLB's requirements. The facility opens doors for joint research efforts in nanocomposite polymers and elastomers, creating more internship opportunities in core engineering fields. This collaboration will be immensely beneficial to both the students and faculty members of SREC, enhancing the institution's industry-specific capabilities and complementing the existing centers of excellence and DST sponsored centralized facilities.
