REPORT ON ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR (AMAES–2026)

The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Humanities, successfully organized an IEEE & ISTE Sponsored One Day International Seminar on Advanced Materials & Its Applications in Electrochemical Science (AMAES–2026)” on 23rd March 2026 at the Library Seminar Hall.

The seminar commenced with registration from 09.00 AM to 09.30 AM, followed by the formal inauguration at 09.30 AM. The traditional lighting of the kuthuvilakku at 09.35 AM marked the auspicious beginning of the event, followed by a prayer song that created a serene atmosphere.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. J. Sheeja, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, resource persons, and participants. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Sakthivel Aruchamy, Professor & Head, First Year Programme, who emphasized the importance of advanced materials in modern electrochemical applications. This was followed by the Chief Guest Address, which highlighted emerging trends and research opportunities in electrochemical science.

After a short high tea break, the technical sessions began. The first invited talk (10.45 AM – 12.00 PM) was delivered by Dr. H. Yuvaraj, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore. He provided valuable insights into recent advancements in material science and electrochemical techniques.

The second invited talk (01.00 PM – 02.30 PM) was presented by Dr. V. Ganesh, Senior Principal Scientist, Electrodics and Electrocatalysis Division, CSIR–CECRI, Karaikudi, who discussed cutting-edge research in electrocatalysis and energy applications.

The third invited talk (02.30 PM – 04.00 PM) was delivered by Dr. P. Sivaraj, Senior Research Scientist, Department of Materials, University of Oxford, UK. His session focused on advanced functional materials and their global research perspectives, which greatly benefited the participants. More than 130 participants registered and benefited with this international seminar.

The seminar concluded with a valedictory session followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. J. Suresh, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, sponsors (IEEE & ISTE), organizing members, and participants for making the event a grand success. He also conveyed sincere thanks to the Management for permitting the organization of this event and expressed his profound gratitude to the Principal, Dr. M.
