Mr. B.MARIAPPAN

Faculty Description

Mr. B. Mariappan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English. He joined the institution in 2012. He is always willing to stay long and make sure all the students understand the learning objectives. He obtained M.Phil and M.A English Literature from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He has a teaching experience of 12 years. His specialized area is English Language Teaching and Indian Writing in English. He has published 4 articles in International Journals and 2 papers in International Conferences. He is pursuing Ph.D in Indian Literature- Fiction in Bharathiar University.

He has attended 2 international workshops, 1 national workshop and 1 FDP to improve his teaching methodology. He is trained in BEC and has passed the TKT-Teaching Knowledge Test certified by Cambridge University. He holds the additional responsibility of being in charge of German Language club in the college. He is a life member in the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

 In addition, he is a Programme Officer of National Service Scheme, Unit - II. He helps the students to plan, implement and evaluate the activities of NSS under his charge and give proper guidance and directions to the student volunteers.  He is actively conducting the camps for the development of rural and tribal societies. He has participated in National level camp.

He received an award for "Best NSS Programme Officer" from Anna University, Chennai and also he received "Silver Zone" award from Indian Association for The Blind School, Madurai. He received an "Appreciation Certificate" from Anna University, Chennai for his best performance as a Programme Officer
