Dr. M. Chitra

Faculty Description

Dr. M. Chitra is currently working as Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Physics in Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She completed her B.Sc. Physics in Women's Christian College (Manonmaniam Sundaranar Univeristy), Nagercoil in the year 2004 and M.Sc. Physics in Manonmaniam Sundaranar Univeristy, Tirunelveli in the year 2006. She has secured the University Gold Medal in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. Physics of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. She completed her M.Phil. Physics in Manonmaniam Sundaranar Univeristy, Tirunelveli in the year 2007. She completed Ph.D. in Physics in 2016 under Anna University, Chennai and She has also cleared Tamilnadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) in 2016.  She has about 17 years of service in the same discipline as Assistant Professor and 8 years of research experience. To meet demands of the current scenario, her research emphasis is being focused towards Gas Sensors, Nanostructured Metal oxide Semiconductors and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells for Energy Production. She has 19 international publications in reputed journals such as RSC Advances, Physica E, Nanotechnology, Sensor Letters, Materials Letters and so on. She has presented 58 papers in various International and National conferences and has attended 09 Faculty Development Programmes. She has obtained Best Poster Award in the Department of Atomic Energy - Solid State Physics Symposium at Amity University, Noida. Her passion is teaching Physics and motivating the research culture in the minds of young budding Engineers.
