Faculty Description

    Dr. Vichitra Sivaji is an accomplished Language Instructor, Soft Skills Trainer, content developer, language expert, researcher, academic leader, and Cambridge-certified examiner with distinguished expertise in English Language Teaching (ELT) and communication skills development. With over 27 years of teaching experience, including 8 years of international teaching experience, and seven years of focused research engagement, she has dedicated her career to empowering learners - particularly budding engineers and vernacular medium students—to become confident communicators with strong professional presence and refined interpersonal skills.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English language Teaching from Bharathiar University. She completed her M.Phil., specialising in Indian Writing, from Madurai Kamaraj University, and obtained her Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees from Bharathiar University. Further strengthening her global pedagogical foundation, she earned a PG Diploma in TEFL/TESOL from Aspiring Professionals Teacher Training Institute, in collaboration with TEFL International, Canada, with specialisations in Teaching Young Learners and Teaching Business English.

With a strong foundation in both pedagogy and practice, Dr. Vichitra Sivaji has contributed extensively to designing curriculum frameworks, instructional materials, training modules, and technology-enabled learning resources tailored to diverse learner needs. Her expertise lies in creating outcome-oriented content that integrates language accuracy, communication effectiveness, and employability skills.

Her eight years of international teaching exposure has enriched her cross-cultural competence and global perspective in language education. She has guided project work for students of Canberra University, contributing to international academic mentoring and collaboration. She has also been recognised and awarded for her extraordinary service and dedication to the teaching profession.

As a Cambridge-certified examiner, she upholds international standards in evaluating English language proficiency. She is a life member of ELTAI (English Language Teachers’ Association of India) and ELSTA (ENGlang Skills Training Academy, Asia) an e–learning platform, registered under MSME, Govt. of India. and has actively participated in numerous Faculty Development Programmes, seminars, and workshops, presenting research papers at national conferences. She has also served as a resource person on various occasions, delivering invited lectures and conducting professional development programmes for educators and students.

Her commitment to educational outreach extends beyond institutional boundaries. She was part of the team constituted by the Collector of Coimbatore to train government school teachers in effective English communication, thereby contributing to grassroots educational empowerment. As a resource person her work consistently focuses on helping vernacular medium students develop soft skills, self-confidence, and a strong personality. She has conducted workshops for school teachers on the importance being updated and teaching through games, AI Tools and online platofrms.

She has served as a Board of Studies (BOS) member in various colleges, contributing significantly to curriculum enrichment, academic reforms, and quality enhancement initiatives. In addition, she has extensive experience coordinating academic and institutional events, demonstrating exceptional organisational and leadership capabilities. She has also served as Master of Ceremonies for numerous prestigious programmes, reflecting her eloquence, poise, and commanding stage presence.

Her literary contributions include work published in The International Library of Poetry, France. Her areas of interest encompass English Language Teaching, technology-integrated pedagogy, language assessment, professional communication, personality development, and content innovation.

Through her multifaceted roles as educator, mentor, examiner, content developer, curriculum contributor, trainer, and academic coordinator, Dr. Vichitra Sivaji continues to shape articulate, confident, and globally competent individuals, making a sustained and meaningful impact on language education and learner development.
