Faculty Description

Dr. Jayapriya Sengottaiyan is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Chemistry at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and earned her M.Phil., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Chemistry from Chikkanna Government Arts College, Tiruppur, affiliated with Bharathiar University.

Dr. Jayapriya has 13 years of teaching experience and 7 years of research experience in the field of Chemistry. She has published four research articles in reputed international peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research findings at several national and international conferences. Her doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of Schiff base-based fluorescent chemosensors for the selective detection of metal ions and anions, with applications in environmental monitoring, chemical sensing, and analytical chemistry.

Her research interests include Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Schiff Base Chemistry, Chemosensors, Supramolecular Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry.
