Faculty Description

Dr.S.Hema is currently working as an Associate professor in the department of Civil Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She completed her Ph.D in the area of "Surface and subsurface water quality modeling of Cauvery river using GIS" during August 2015, under Anna University, Chennai. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Bharathiar University during 2003 and Master's degree from Anna University, Chennai in the area of Environmental Engineering during 2006.

She was a recipient of GATE- Scholarship for doing her Master's Programme under Ministry of Human Resources, India, and was an University Rank holder both in Undergraduate and Postgraduate examinations. She has around 14 years of experience in teaching & research and has published 15 quality papers in peer reviewed journals. She has also received many grants for organizing workshops and conferences from Research agencies namely DST, TNSCST etc.,

She serves as a member in the District level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) and District Level expert appraisal committee (DEAC) in Coimbatore. She is a certified Accredited Professional - IGBC (Indian Green Building Council). She is engaged in consultancy projects like water auditing and waste auditing services. Her research interests include water quality monitoring and management, green buildings, indoor air quality and emergent contaminant studies. To accomplish her dedication and involvement in teaching, she was awarded with 'Best Faculty Award' from Kongu Engineering College (2012), 'Young Faculty in Engineering Award' from Venus International Foundation (2017) and 'Excellence Teaching in Higher Education Award' from IWRC (2018). She has also delivered invited lectures in a few colleges of repute.
