Faculty Description

Mrs. E. Shanthini is an Assistant Professor (Sl.G) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She also serves as the School of Design Thinking Nodal Coordinator, Hackathon Coordinator and Innovation Ambassador at the Collaborative Innovation Centre (SREC CoIN). 

She brings over 23 years of professional experience, including 13.5 years in the PCB Design and CAM industry and 10+ years in academia. During her industry career, she specialized in designing multilayer PCBs (up to 10 layers) using Cadence Allegro and OrCAD, while executing numerous CAM projects using CAM350 and Genesis. Her expertise includes high- speed, analog, digital, wireless, memory, and power supply PCB design, along with project management and team leadership.

She has presented 10 papers in national conferences, 27 papers in international conferences, and published 9 papers in international journals.She has acted as an expert member in Board of Studies and technical committee reviewer in International Conferences. She has successfully completed three industry consultancy projects and is currently executing an international consultancy project for Seyon Engineering Services, Australia. One of the student projects under her mentorship has been successfully commercialized. 

Her major achievements include being the Winner of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022, recipient of the TIH-IoT Chanakya UG/PG Fellowship 2022, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Young Achievers Award, Top 60 Finalist in the Texas Instruments India Innovation Challenge Design Contest (IICDC), and NPTEL Top Performing Mentor. As the Overall Coordinator of Techgium, she mentored student teams that secured ₹10 lakh in prize money and also received the Best Project Award under the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) Student Project Scheme.

She secured a ₹3 lakh grant under the AICTE MODROBS scheme for the modernization of the Microprocessor/Microcontroller Laboratory for IoT Applications. She also received grant of ₹16 lakh for conducting the Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp and ₹2.25 lakh for the Mentor-Mentee Program under the Ministry of Education & Institution Innovation Council (MoE & IIC). 

She has served as a resource person for various value-added courses, Faculty Development Programmes , seminars, workshops, short-term training programmes, and conferences. Her areas of expertise include Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, Internet of Things , PCB Design, Design Thinking, and Augmented & Virtual Reality. She has also facilitated an MoU with IFFEN, France, strengthening industry–academia collaboration in the field of Virtual Reality.She is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
