QNX- Pi Square Technologies PVT. Ltd

Lab Inauguration & Student Orientation Programme:
Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) successfully organized the QNX RTOS Industry–Academia Collaboration – Lab Inauguration and Student Orientation Programme on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. The event marked a significant step toward strengthening practical, industry-oriented learning in embedded systems and RTOS.
The programme commenced with the inauguration of the Centre of Excellence – QNX–Pi Square Technologies India at the ECE Department. The facility was inaugurated by Mr. Veer Kumar Beede, Director – Engineering Services, BlackBerry QNX; Mr. Surendra Kumar Paulraj, Software Architect (QNX–SME), Pi Square Technologies India; and Mr. Dasaratha, Program Director – QNX Everywhere, Pi Square Technologies. The Centre is equipped with high-end systems installed with QNX Momentics IDE, supported through a multi-user non-commercial license, and is designed to provide hands-on exposure to safety-critical RTOS platforms and advanced embedded tools.
Following the lab inauguration, student orientation and technical sessions were conducted. The first session by Mr. Surendra Kumar Paulraj on “Driving the Evolution of the Automotive Industry” highlighted safety, reliability, low latency, and high-performance computing, along with applications in robotics, smart rail, defence, and hypervisor-based systems.
The second session by Mr. Veer Kumar Beede provided an overview of QNX and BlackBerry QNX, emphasizing its adoption as a certified safety-critical RTOS across automotive, medical, industrial automation, aerospace, robotics, and defence sectors.
The final session by Mr. Dasaratha introduced Pi Square Technologies and outlined the QNX RTOS academic program, a 3-credit course with 40 hours of hands-on training.

The programme concluded with an interactive session where students engaged with the experts. The organizers thank the Management of SREC and the Principal, Dr. A. Soundarrajan, for their continued support in establishing the QNX–Pi Square Technologies Centre of Excellence.

Two faculty from the Departments of ECE & RA , Mrs.V.Anupriya, Assistant Prof (Sr.G) and Mrs.N. Dheerthi have been trained and certified in QNX RTOS. They have conducted value added course for around 200 students across the departments of ECE, EEE, RA and E&I.
