Faculty Description

Mr. R. Mohan Kumar is an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, bringing over 18 years of dedicated teaching experience to the institution. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, and his Master's degree in Information and Communication Systems (Applied Electronics) from Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Systems under Anna University, Chennai.

Mr. Mohan Kumar has made significant contributions to academic research, with 10 research articles published in Scopus-indexed journals, 4 Scopus-indexed book chapters, and 8 papers presented at international conferences. He has also mentored and guided 20 undergraduate student projects, fostering practical and research-oriented learning among students.

Committed to continuous professional growth, he has participated in over 20 Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and more than 40 workshops and seminars conducted by premier institutions including the IITs, IISc, and NITs. He has further enhanced his professional profile through certifications from NPTEL, Coursera, Udemy, MATLAB, and Tata Steel Industry, and successfully completed the Cambridge English Business Preliminary Examination. In recognition of his mentorship excellence, he was honored as a Top Performing Mentor by NPTEL.

His core areas of research interest include Electrical Machines and Renewable Energy Systems. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and holds Life Membership in the Indian ociety for Technical Education (ISTE) and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
