Faculty Description

Dr. P. Sebastian Vindro Jude is an accomplished academician, researcher, and mentor serving as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Coimbatore. He joined the institution on 03 July 2006 and has dedicated more than 20 years to teaching, research, academic administration, and professional service in the field of Electrical Engineering.

He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Bargur (Madras University) in 2001. He pursued his Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Energy Engineering at the National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, affiliated with Anna University, in 2006. Driven by his passion for research and innovation, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2020.

Throughout his academic career, he has demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses. He is committed to providing quality education through innovative teaching methodologies, outcome-based education practices, and experiential learning. His dedication to student mentoring has enabled numerous students to undertake successful academic and industry-oriented projects in the domains of renewable energy, electric vehicles, power electronics, and smart energy systems.

He has made significant contributions to research and scholarly publications. He has authored and presented 15 papers in National Conferences, 20 papers in International Conferences, 13 papers in International Journals, and 12 papers in Scopus-indexed journals. His research focuses on Renewable Energy Systems, Electrical Machines, Smart Grid Technologies, Electric Vehicles, Energy Management, Sustainable Energy Systems, Artificial Intelligence Applications in Power Systems, and Power Electronics. His research work emphasizes practical solutions for improving energy efficiency, integrating renewable energy resources, and developing sustainable electrical systems.

Apart from research, he actively participates in continuous professional development. He has attended more than 40 Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), over 40 national and international workshops, seminars, and technical training programmes, and Short-Term Training Programmes (STTPs) organized by prestigious institutions and professional bodies. He has also successfully completed several online certification courses through NPTEL, Coursera, and MATLAB/MathWorks, enhancing his expertise in emerging technologies and modern engineering education.

Dr. Jude has played a vital role in organizing numerous academic and professional events, including International Conferences, Faculty Development Programmes, Workshops, Seminars, Technical Symposia, Industrial Training Programmes, and Student Development Activities. He has actively contributed to curriculum development, accreditation activities, research promotion, industry collaboration, and institutional quality initiatives.

He has been actively involved in various academic and administrative responsibilities within the institution, contributing to quality assurance, research development, student mentoring, project supervision, and departmental growth. His commitment to academic excellence and institutional development has earned him recognition among students, colleagues, and industry professionals.

Dr. Jude strongly believes in bridging the gap between academia and industry through collaborative research, consultancy, innovation, and technology transfer. His vision is to inspire engineering students to become competent professionals capable of addressing global energy challenges through sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.

He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Through his active involvement in professional organizations, he continues to contribute to engineering education, research dissemination, and professional networking.
