Faculty Description

Dr. Balachander K obtained his Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG Polytechnic College, Coimbatore, in 1993 and his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, in 2001. He received his Master of Engineering (M.E.) in VLSI Design from Anna University, Coimbatore, in 2009. He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical Energy Management and Auditing from Annamalai University in 2016. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering by Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University), Coimbatore, in 2017.

He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. With over 17 years of teaching experience and 7 years of industrial experience, Dr. Balachander has published more than 130 research papers, including over 100 papers in Scopus-indexed journals, 7 papers in SCI/Web of Science indexed journals and 20 papers in reputed international conference proceedings. He has authored five books, contributed seven book chapters and has been granted five registered design patents in recognition of his innovative contributions to engineering and technology.

Dr. Balachander has successfully supervised seven Ph.D. scholars at Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (KAHE) and serves as a reviewer for several reputed national and international journals. He is an active member of professional bodies, including ISTE, The Institution of Engineers (India), IAEMP, IAENG, IRED and IACSIT. His research interests include Renewable Energy Systems, Smart Grids, Distributed Generation, Battery Management Systems, Electric Vehicles and Power Electronics.
