Dr. A. Sakthivel, a seasoned Electrical & Electronics Engineering professional with over 28 years of rich experience spanning academia and industry. He holds a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from GCT Coimbatore (1999), an M.E. in Power Electronics and Drives from PSG College of Technology (2002), and a Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai (2016).
His core research interests focus on power quality, power converters, and soft computing techniques. He has had the privilege to contribute to the global academic community as a recognized research supervisor at Anna University, Chennai since 2017, and as a sabbatical researcher at Cape Breton University, Canada (2012).
Throughout my career, He has published 25+ papers in reputed international journals including IEEE Access, Elsevier, and Springer, and presented 24+ research papers at various national and international conferences. He has also contributed to academic literature with a book chapter publication. He has been instrumental in securing over ₹60 lakhs in research funding from agencies such as AICTE, DRDO, DST, ANRF, and IEEE.
Dr. A. Sakthivel has passionate about fostering international and national academic collaborations, successfully establishing partnerships with institutions such as Cape Breton University (Canada), PMIST, and KU. These efforts have led to faculty exchange programs and joint research initiatives.
Over 2+ decades at leading institutes, He has driven the establishment of 5 value-added centers, forged multiple MoUs between industry and academia, and launched power quality and energy audit services for industries since 2015. My administrative experience includes key leadership roles such as HoD-EEE, HoD-First Year Programme, and various academic & professional committee memberships.
Dr. A. Sakthivel has actively contributed to over 80+ technical and leadership development programs, organized 50+ events sponsored by prominent bodies like AICTE, DRDO, IEEE, and ISTE, and delivered more than 20+ expert technical talks. His expertise extends to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) implementation, NBA and NAAC accreditation processes, NIRF & QS I-GAUGE rankings, NEP 2020 curriculum reforms, and PBL methodologies.
Honors include being named Verschuren Research Fellow at Cape Breton University, receiving accolades from NPTEL and IEEE MAS, and the prestigious Jewel of NPTC Award during my alma mater’s diamond jubilee celebrations. He is a Senior Member in IEEE and LM ISTE, and committed to advancing engineering education, research, and industry collaborations that create meaningful impact in society.
