COURSE OUTCOMES

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to

CO1: Create geometric models using the basic commands and features of the drafting software. PO1, PO5, PO9, PO10

CO2: Construct simple geometric entities and their projections as per the BIS conventions. PO1, PO5, PO9, PO10

CO3: Convert the pictorial projections of geometric entities into orthographic projections. PO1, PO5, PO9, PO10

CO4: Draw the isometric view of simple geometric models. PO1, PO5, PO9, PO10

CO5: Manipulate the geometric entities created using drafting software. PO1, PO5, PO9, PO10

INTRODUCTION

Graphics in engineering applications  Use of Drawing Instruments, BIS conventions and specifications, Lettering Geometrical Constructions and Dimensioning Scales. Introduction to drafting software, Standard tool bars/Menus, coordinate systems and reference planes, selection of drawing size and scale - Title block.

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS

1. Creation of drawing sheet layouts and title block.

2. Model simple two-dimensional graphical entities using absolute and relative co-ordinate methods.

3. Projection of points.

4. Projection of straight lines.

5. Projection of simple solids.

6. Construction of orthographic views of simple solids.

7. Modeling of isometric view of simple solids.
