Dr. M. SENTHAMIL SELVI

Faculty Description

Dr. M. Senthamil Selvi is currently working as Professor & Head in the Department of Information Technology at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She has 25 years of teaching experience and 3 years of industry experience. She has guided many UG and PG projects. Her research and teaching interests include Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Computing, Internet of Things and Social Mobile Analytics Cloud. She has participated & organized various seminars, workshops, and Faculty Development Programmes and also published several papers in Conferences and Journals. 

She is involved in consultancy work for industries in the domains of Internet of Things and Data Analytics. She is the Chairperson of the Board of Studies, Member of various committees like Advisory Committee, Technical Committee, Result Passing Board, Student Welfare Committee, Discipline and Welfare Committee and Internal Quality Assurance Cell. She is the faculty coordinator for IIRS-ISRO Outreach Programme and Nodal Officer for AISHE - MHRD, National Cyber Safety and Security Standard (NCSSS). She has received funding to the tune of INR.19,41,000 from agencies like AICTE - MODROBS, NABARD, IEEE R10, AICTE – Samriddhi Scheme, UBA, CSIR, AICTE ATAL, NCW  and Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST). She is the recipient of “Distinguished Women in Engineering'' for her contribution and achievements in Information Technology from Venus International Foundation, Chennai. She has received “50 Fabulous Edutech Leaders” from World Education Congress at Mumbai. She is a Senior Member of IEEE & IEEE-WIE and a life member of Computer Society of India, Indian Society for Technical Education and International Society for Research and Development. She is the Convener for SREC Women Empowerment Cell and SREC WEC has received CII-IWN (Sothern Region) – “Power of Parity” Award. She is the Faculty Coordinator of SREC IEEE-WIE Students Affinity Group and SREC IEEE-WIE SAG Received Honorable Mention for 2015 WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the Year Award. In 2017, SREC IEEE-WIE SAG bagged the IEEE R10 WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the Year Award. She is an Executive Committee Member for Madras IEEE-WIE Affinity Group for the period 2019-2021.
