Faculty Description

Dr. K. Deepa is currently working as Professor in the Department of Information Technology at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. She completed her B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from R.V.S. Engineering College, Dindigul under Madurai Kamaraj University in the year 1994 with first class. She obtained her M.E. degree in Software Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore under Anna University, Chennai in the year 2006. She has obtained Anna University 2nd rank and Gold Medalist in M.E. She completed her Ph.D work entitled “Duplicate Record Detection using Soft Computing Approaches” from Information and Communication Engineering, Anna University, Chennai. She has one and a half years of industry experience and 18 years of teaching experience. She has guided many UG and PG projects. Her research and teaching interests include Data Mining, Soft Computing, Database Management Systems, Data Structures and Operating Systems. She has published research papers in International Journals and Conferences.

She has received INR 1,00,000 as funds under AICTE AQIS Seminar Grant scheme for the seminar entitled “Data Modeling and Business Discovery-Qlik”. She is the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) of the College NPTEL local chapter. She was the coordinator for Anna University approved Faculty Development Training Programme on “CS6601-Distributed System”.  She is a life member of ISTE and CSI.
