Mrs. S. JANSI RANI

Faculty Description

Mrs. S. Jansi Rani is currently working as an Assistant Professor(Sel.Gr) in the Department of Information Technology. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore. She obtained her Master of Engineering  in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Coimbatore. She has 9 Years of teaching experience, and has guided 5 UG projects. Her research and teaching interests include Data Science and Cyber Security. She is a member of IEEE, IEEE-WIE, ISTE, IACSIT, and IAENG. She has published papers in Scopus Indexed journals, WoS and many International and National conferences. She has attended various Faculty Development Programmes, seminars & workshops. She was the coordinator for the NABARD sponsored two- day seminar on “Enhancing the productivity of Small Scale Women Entrepreneurs and Self Help Groups (SHG) availing Microfinance Services” . She was the coordinator for the TNSCST under the Scheme of Popularization of Science Activities “Science TechQuest – Middle School Science Fair Project Ideas and Science Exhibition for Government School Students” for the academic year 2017-2018. Her project team has developed the project titled “Smart SMS Alert System to minimize the impact of Human Elephant Conflict in the borders of Coimbatore District” and has been selected for final presentation in the IEEE-R10 Project contest at Bangladesh during December, 2017 and received $300 as a travel grant. She is the annual member of IEEE, IEEE-WIE and life-time member of ISTE, IAENG and IACSIT. She has passed BEC preliminary certification examination and completed online courses in NPTEL, MATLAB on-ramp courses, Courserea, Udemy, ICSI and Uttarakhand University. She has been awarded as “Best Women Faculty” from Novel Research Academy, Pondicherry. She is one of the  members of SREC IEEE WIE SAG and Women Empowerment Cell. She has published three chapters in the book Cyber-Physical Systems and Industry 4.0 practical Applications and Security Management and has  received copyrights for two laboratory manual.
