Faculty Description

N. Susila is currently working as Professor and Head in the Department of Information Technology, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. She has a total experience of 24 years. She joined as a Lecturer at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai and served in theInstitution for 5.5 years. In her career span of 18 years at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, she held various positions like Dean – Emerging Technology, Controller of Examinations, Professor and Head of Information Technology Department. She has completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from PeriyarManiammai College of Technology for Women, Bharathidasan University. She has completed her Masters Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology as a 9th Rank Holder. She has completed her PhD. in the field of Information and Communication Engineering in the area of Cloud Computing.

She has published various papers in International Journals and Conferences. She has submitted various project proposals under various schemes of DST STI Hub, FITST, SATYAM, SERB, AQIS (AICTE), WOS, WTP and TIDE. She has published over 30 papers in referred national and international journals and conferences, published 13 book / book chapters and 5 patents. She is an Innovation Ambassador of Institution Innovation Council and a NITTTR mentor at SKCET. She has received various awards and to name a few, National Cloud Champion Coordinator by AWS Educate, National Winner Coordinator, Learnathon, Best Coordinator for Skill Edge Technological Foundation Courses.

She has authored various books and books chapters with reputed publishers like Elsevier, CRC Press, IET, IGI Global etc. She has received grants from various finding agencies like AICTE, ICMR and DXC Technologies for organizing National and International Level Conferences, Workshops and Women Empowerment Program. She has mentored a project titled “INTELLBOT” for the 2000 – 2004 batch students, which won the FIRST PRIZE in Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Delhi. She has mentored a project titled “Voice Based Automated Wheel Chair for Handicapped” for the 2009 batch students, which was awarded a grant of Rs.5000 from the “Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology”.

She has received various awards at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology including Best Faculty Award, Best HOD award etc. She has organized various workshops, faculty development programs and National Level Conference NCCCIS, NCRAC in association with IEEE, AICTE, and ICMR etc. She has organized the First edition of TEDX SKCET at SKCET. Being the college level ICT academy coordinator she has organized various Power seminar, FDP's, Learnathon contests and initiated different Center of Excellence in association with Dell EMC, VMware, Zoho, RHA etc. She has mentored the team AGCoderz who got the First Prize worth RS.1, 00,000 in the ZohoAppathon Contest. She has successfully mentored a consultancy project titled “MCP for Hospital Data” for GE Healthcare Systems. She is acting as Reviewer for several International journals like Expert Systems, Wiley etc. She served as Academic Jury Member for Youth Talk – ICT Academy, Reviewer and Session Chair for various National and International Conferences. She has obtained various universal certifications from different forums like Nasscom Future Skills, Coding Ninjas, Edx, Coursera etc. She is a member of different professional societies like ISTE, IAENG and IFERP.
