Dr.
P. Suganya is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in
the Department of English at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore,
where she has been working since June 2009. Prior to joining SREC, she worked
as an Assistant Professor at Maharaja Engineering College from 22 October 2007.
With over 18 years of teaching experience in English Language and Literature,
she has established herself as a dedicated educator and academician.
She
obtained her Ph.D. in English from Bharathiar University in 2019, with Indian
Fiction as her area of specialization. She completed her M.Phil. and master’s
degree in English literature at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore.
She
is a qualified Business English Certificate (BEC) Trainer and has successfully
completed the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) with Band 3, certified by Cambridge
University. She has also earned a Webinar Badge from Cambridge Assessment
English in recognition of her commitment to continuous professional
development.
A
passionate lifelong learner, Dr. P. Suganya consistently enhances her
professional competencies by pursuing online certification courses. She has
been recognized as a Top Performing Mentor by NPTEL and has secured Topper
positions in several NPTEL online courses.
Her
research contributions include the publication of six research papers in UGC
Care-listed and Web of Science-indexed journals. She has also presented and
published research papers at numerous national and international conferences.
Dr.
P Suganya has served as a Resource Person for Government schools, conducting
communication skills training programmes for students from vernacular-medium
backgrounds. She is the Faculty Coordinator of Reading Movement @ SREC, where
she actively promotes reading culture and lifelong learning through literary
activities, outreach programmes, and student engagement initiatives.
She
is an active member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and
ELT@I (English Language Teachers' Association of India), reflecting her
continued commitment to professional excellence and academic development.
