Civil-Nano-MSME Project

???? Celebrations ????

We are thrilled to announced that the Civil and Nano departments have successfully received a Government of India (GoI) Grant for Innovation and Incubation under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Sanctioned Champion Scheme???? . The project, titled "Development and Deployment of Self-Sensing Cement Nanocomposite for Real-Time Health and Safety Assessments in Infrastructure," was sanctioned in 2023 and is on track for successful completion in March, 2024.

The journey of this project began with the utilization of the SREC seed grant, followed by Proof of Concept (PoC) development, crossing the Technology Readiness Level (TRL-5), testing, product development, validation, and financial support for commercialization received from MSME. The project has received significant motivation and support from the Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College management, SREC-CoIN, and SREC-SPARK, contributing to its successful completion. ????

This collaborative effort has been driven by the dedicated efforts of students, research scholars, and faculty members over the past year. ???? The grant, totaling 15 Lakhs, will facilitate the achievement of the project\'s objectives and outcomes. The core team comprises B. Rahul Prasad, a Final Year B.E-Civil student from the 2020 batch, Mrs. S. Indhumathi, a Full-Time Research Scholar from the Nano department, Dr. A. Dinesh, Assistant Professor in the Civil department, and Dr. Moorthi Pichumani, Professor in the Nano department.

The project aims to achieve significant milestones in the product development and deployment of self-sensing cement nanocomposites, which hold immense potential for detecting and measuring structural deformations leading to real-time health and safety assessments in infrastructure. Stay tuned for updates on the major outcomes and advancements resulting from this groundbreaking project. ????
