Dr. A. Kishore Kumar received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication
Engineering (2014) from Anna University, Chennai. He obtained his M.E. in
Communication Systems (2008) from Anna University and B.E. in Electronics and
Instrumentation Engineering (2002) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Additionally, he holds an MBA in Human Resource Management (2005) from IGNOU,
New Delhi. With over 21 years and 7 months of teaching experience and 2 years
of R&D experience in industry, he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Robotics and Automation at Sri
Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. He teaches a wide range of
undergraduate courses in Robotics and Automation, including Autonomous Mobile Robots, Intelligent
Robots, Automation in Industry 4.0, Robotics for Healthcare Applications,
and Autonomous Vehicles. He has a
robust research portfolio, having published over 78 research papers in reputed
international journals and conferences, and 10 book chapters with publishers
such as IGI Global and Taylor & Francis. His research interests include
Sensors and IoT, Mobile Robotics, VLSI, and Communication Systems. He is an
inventor of several design patents, including a Robot for Rescue Operations in Shallow Water and an AI-enabled Smart Tablet Vending Machine.
He serves as a reviewer for the IEEE Conferences and the Journal of Engineering Science and Technology, Taylor’s University,
Malaysia.
He also holds IBM certification in Enterprise Design Thinking – Team Essentials for AI. He serves as a
resource person for conferences, workshops, and ATAL Faculty Development
Programs across institutions. He has also organized several sponsored technical
events in the department, supported by CSIR and The Robotics Society,
particularly in the field of Mobile Robotics and SLAM Navigation. An active
contributor to sustainable development initiatives, he is a member of the SDG-6
(Clean Water and Sanitation) team on campus. He is a life member of
professional bodies, including ISTE, IETE, IAENG, and The Robotics Society
(India).
