Dr. P. Devendran

Faculty Description

Dr. P. Devendran obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Robotic GMAW) from Anna University, Chennai in 2023. He earned his Master’s degree in CAD/CAM from Kongu Engineering College, Anna University in 2011, and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from K.S. Rangasamy College of Engineering and Technology, Anna University in 2008.

He possesses over 12 years of teaching experience and 3 years of industrial experience, enabling him to effectively integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications in engineering education. His academic and professional interests include Robotic Welding, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics Systems, and Fluid Power Systems. His research work focuses on Additive Manufacturing, Process Optimization, Robotic Welding Technologies, and Simulation-based analysis, with an emphasis on improving manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Dr. Devendran has made significant research contributions, with more than 20 publications in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. His work demonstrates a strong commitment to applied research and interdisciplinary innovation in advanced manufacturing and automation. In addition to publications, he has been actively involved in funded research projects, consultancy services, and industry-sponsored activities, contributing to institutional revenue generation and strengthening industry–academia collaboration.

He has successfully coordinated and organized several Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, conferences, seminars, and skill-oriented training programs, including government-funded initiatives under PMKVY and TNULM.
