Construction of a Telescope for Government School Students
The great aim of education is not knowledge but action". Regardless of our background and experience, education has the ability for cognitive advancement. On this front of broadening our perspectives, 'Construction of a Telescope' was conducted exclusively for students from a government school. This event was jointly organized by the Science Association and the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, in association with Chiguru CoLab, Bengaluru, through the 2021 IBM Volunteer Excellence Award.
The inspiring training session commenced with the opening remarks of Dr.K.Uthayarani - Professor and Head of the Department of Physics. It was insightful guidance for the students about the workshop and its future ramifications. Dr.R.Kesavasamy acknowledged the importance of the workshop and gave an in-depth portrayal of telescopes. Finally, the seasoned acolytes of the second-year Aeronautical department gave an expert demonstration about asteroids.
Our revered guest of honor, Mr.Bharath Kumar Velusamy, Co-Founder/Project Director (R & D wing), has made significant contributions to the development and advancement of space science. His knowledge and insights into the latest trends and promotions have earned him numerous accolades and awards. He delivered an eloquent and thought-provoking speech that challenged us to think critically and embrace new ideas. In addition, they conducted hands-on sessions, which stimulated the interest of the learners and elicited a tremendous response. Overall, it was a well-conceived and well-organized event for budding junior scholars.
