Japanese Language - A Curtain Raiser

Konnichiwa! What does it mean? It's a formal way of saying Hello in Japanese. Language is not a genetic gift; it is a social gift. To learn a language is to have one more window from which you look at the world. Learning a foreign language is becoming essential for pursuing one's career in a better way. The Department of English organized the Japanese language orientation for the College's first-year students. The Resource person, Manager-Academic operations of Japanese Pluz (SST GLOBAL), Mr. Praneeth Balasubramanian, interacted with the students about the significance of learning Japanese.

So, why Japanese? He gave an in-depth insight into how learning a third language allows graduates to gain access to the latest technology and information, enabling them to obtain an added advantage in an increasingly multicultural and diverse work environment where more opportunities are opened to a competent workforce in several languages. In this competitive world, being bilingual is seen as a necessary element for a good career. Japan, the country leading in advanced technology over the decades, provides a lot of job opportunities for young skilled manpower. It has a vast number of both public and private Universities, offering numerous courses at an affordable fees. In order to fulfil our dream of pursuing higher education and a career abroad, knowing their native language is imperative.

A person can only make effective use of his language only when the opportunity for him is provided. At SREC, the students are provided adequate basic Japanese and German knowledge to enrich their careers.

The orientation was indeed an eye-opener. It evoked the sense of learning new languages and urging us to grab opportunities that knock on our door. Thanks, SREC !!
