Step 7: TNEA Counselling 2022 starts with a special category followed by general as per the allotment.
Section 2- Certificate requirements
The certificates mentioned below are mandatory for verification and other processes
- A hard copy of the TNEA application form
- High school mark sheet
- Intermediate mark sheet
- Photo identity proof like Aadhaar card, election ID card, driving license
- Transfer certificate from the last school attended
- Nativity certificate (in case applicable)
- Category certificate (applicable category)

Section 4: TNEA Engineering Counselling rounds:
The counselling will be conducted in 4 rounds. Candidates will participate in respective rounds based on their rank. Refer to the illustration below on how every stage works.
Stage 1: Choice filling.
Stage 2: Allotment.
Stage 3: Confirmation of Allotment.
Stage 4: Reporting to college / TFC for paying the tuition fee
Section 5: Details on Choice filling & Seat allotment
- The candidates will have three days to fill the choices of colleges and courses as desired. A candidate can fill any number of choices.
- The candidates' seat allotment will be based on their preferred order of choices based on their rank and the eligible seat.
- In the Allotment stage, the confirmation options will be given after the seat allotment. The candidates must confirm their seats within 2 days from the date of allotment.
Section 6: Confirmation options to spot on
Accept & join -> Satisfied with the seat. Downloading the allotment order.---> Reporting to the college
Accept & upward -> Satisfied with the seat. But wait for a higher order allotment. Chooses upward movement -> No better choice in an upward movement, can lock the old seat allotment
Decline & upward -> Not satisfied with the seat. Waits for higher order allotment in an upward movement. -> No better choice in an upward movement, can move to the next round.
Decline & move next -> Not satisfied with the seat and not waiting for upward movement. -> Decided to go to the next round
Decline & quit -> Not satisfied and not willing to take part. -> Decided to go to the next round
Upward or move to the next round -> No seat allotted. Opt for upward movement. The seat will be allotted based on availability. -> If no seat during upward movement, can move to the next round
Note: The candidate under Accept & upward movement in TNEA counselling 2022 will be given tentative allotment order and should report to the TFC(TNEA Facilitation Centre) to pay the tuition fee for holding the current seat.
The students who have not reported to pay the fees will be considered "Not willing" and lead to allotment cancelation.
