ELS EMBARKS ON A NEW JOURNEY
The art of conversation is the art of hearing as well as of being heard. The English Literary Society is the right platform to enrich our language skills and shape our personalities. ELS kick starts a new journey in 2k23 with a bunch of new blooming engineers. Welcome to the English Literary Society, where we encourage students to unite and to come up with exemplary works.
The Department of English inaugurated the English Literary Society on 14th October 2023, along with the induction of the office bearers of 2023 - 2024. Literary League 2k23 was conducted, which made the day more interesting and one to remember. Four events viz., ‘Spell Bee,’ ‘Guess the Word,’ ‘Best Manager’ and ‘Artistry Unveiled’ were conducted. Students showed great interest and participated actively in the events. They showcased their talents and bagged many prizes.
The inauguration got underway with the welcome address delivered by Praneet.S, ECE III, The President of ELS. The honorable chief guest of the day was Dr.M.Senthamil Selvi, Professor and HoD, IT. She has 25 years of teaching experience and 3 years of industry experience. Her research domains include Mobile computing, the Internet of Things, and wireless sensor networks. She has published several papers. Her contributions to SREC and the field of computers are truly inspiring. She spoke about the hard and soft skills that society demands from an Engineer. She also gave a vivid picture of the various platforms to improve communication skills. This was followed by the induction of the office bearers. The dignitaries Dr.M.Senthamil Selvi and Dr.Vichitra Sivaji, HoD, Department of English, honoured the office bearers with their badges. Then, the new young leaders of ELS took oaths. Next up was the prize distribution. The achievers were awarded for their accomplishments.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Arul MangaiNayagi, III AI & DS. It panned out to be a great event. Language is the dress of thought. The English language is a work in progress. So we guarantee that ELS will provide great opportunities to all and henceforth continue to entertain all.
