We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the outstanding achievement of Mrs. Nivruthi Shekar, a distinguished alumna of M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology. Currently serving as an International Exchange Fellow at The University of Western Australia, Mrs. Nivruthi has recently achieved the prestigious title of Perth Biodesign 2023 Winner, a testament to her exceptional skills and dedication to innovation.
Mrs. Nivruthi Shekar's remarkable journey includes her participation in a 7-month Biodesign course sponsored by the Department of Health, Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation, along with esteemed institutions such as WA Health, Curtin University, Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Telethon Kids Institute, Perron Institute, and Western Australian Health Translational Network.
The winning team, aptly named "Sound-Asleep," has set its sights on revolutionizing the early diagnosis of hearing loss in children who may struggle with conventional play audiometry. Their groundbreaking solution involves the development of a novel diagnostic device designed to test infant hearing during natural sleep at home. This approach ensures effortless and accurate data collection for subsequent analysis.
But the accolades don't stop there. Nivruthi and her BioDesign Team Members have also earned the Golden Ticket at Freo Tech Fest 2024, presented by the Mayor of Fremantle. This incredible ticket unlocks a pathway to participation in the prestigious London Tech Fest - 2024 and grants access to the PLUS EIGHT accelerator program.
These platforms provide an unparalleled opportunity for Nivruthi and her team to showcase their startup idea on a global stage, secure vital seed funding, and successfully launch their innovative product into the market.
