HACKHEIST'2K23

"If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself." True to this adage, The Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering and Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors of SREC conducted MLSA SREC HACKHEIST' 2k23 - A National Level Hackathon on 26.03.2023, 29.03.2023 and 30.03.2023

Over 80 teams representing the breadth and length of the Indian Subcontinent and our State, out of which 70 were from Tamil Nadu and 10 from other states.

On March 26, 2023, the pre-screening round was conducted online by student coordinators of Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador SREC, after which teams 17 teams that put forth extraordinary ideas were shortlisted.  



On the 29th and 30th of March 2023, the selected teams were brought over to the college premises for the presentation of their prototypes. Day one was thrown open with a motivational speech by Dr. G. Rathi, and after, Ms.Shivani and Ms.Sreeja welcomed the participants. Thereafter, MLSA SREC's annual report and a curtain raiser of events earmarked for the future were presented by Mr.S.Praneet (Community lead). Later, the students demonstrated their prototypes to the internal juries, Mrs.Shanthini, Mrs.Karthigamani, Mrs.Jaishree, Mrs.Birundha, and Mr.Narendran.


 On the second day, the program was underway with the guidance of Dr.M.Jagadeeshwari (HoD, ECE) and external jury Dr. T. Rajesh- technical lead from Innovate Engineering Products. The judgment was based on Novelty, Business ideas, Social Impact, and Improvisation Skills. The winners were awarded Rs.10,000/- and runner-ups Rs.5,000 /-. 


This hackathon threw open a new vista wherein the participants were provided a pathway to explore innovations and different perspectives. 

Faculty members, Faculty Coordinators, Student Coordinators, Community Leads, and Volunteers were on a roll during the event, which made it a roaring success and opened doors of strength, commitment, determination, and doggedness to conduct many more events in the future that would enrich the talents of the students.
