Induction Program 2024: A Celebration of Excellence and a Warm Welcome
The Department of Information Technology recently held its annual induction program, a hallmark event designed to celebrate the department's achievements and warmly welcome new students into the academic community. The event, which took place on August 9, 2024, was skilfully coordinated by Dr. M. Senthamil Selvi, the Head of the Department, with invaluable guidance from our Principal, Dr.A.Soundarrajan. This year's program was a collaborative effort involving INTERACT, the Computer Society of India (CSI), and the CySIGMA Club, reflecting the department's commitment to recognizing and fostering excellence.

OPENING CEREMONY :
The induction program began with the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, a traditional song that venerates the Tamil goddess. This ritualistic start set a solemn and celebratory tone for the event, infusing it with cultural significance and respect for tradition. Following this, the students were captivated by a beautifully crafted video presentation that served several purposes. The video introduced the office bearers of the various responding clubs, highlighting their roles and contributions and underscoring their central role in the vibrant life of the department. It also showcased the impressive accomplishments of both students and faculty, reflecting the department's commitment to academic excellence as well as achievements in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Additionally, the video underscored the diverse successes of students in areas such as sports and fine arts, as well as their active involvement in clubs like the Yuva Club and the National Service Scheme (NSS). This visual tribute not only celebrated past achievements but also inspired current and incoming students by demonstrating the department's dynamic and supportive environment.
CHIEF GUEST ADDRESS:
The highlight of the program was the address by our esteemed chief guest, Rukmangathan Govindarajan, a 2011 alumnus of the IT department. Rukmangathan currently serves as an Assistant Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Bangalore. His presence was a significant highlight, providing students with a valuable perspective on the professional world. During his address, Rukmangathan shared his journey from being a student to becoming a successful IT professional. His speech covered goal setting, industry insights, and work-life balance. He emphasized the importance of setting clear and achievable goals in the IT field. Rukmangathan provided an overview of current trends and challenges in the IT industry. His insights helped demystify the field for students and prepared them for the realities of the professional world. His address was both motivational and practical, equipping students with the tools and mindset needed for a successful career.
CELEBRATING PLACEMENTS ACHIEVEMENTS:
A key segment of the program was dedicated to celebrating the placement achievements of the 2024-25 batch. The department takes immense pride in the successful placements of its students, and this year's placements were particularly noteworthy:
- Bhuvanesh P: Successfully placed at Mitsogo Technologies, reflecting his expertise in cybersecurity.
- Varshini V: Secured a position at RDX Digital Technologies, showcasing her skills in digital solutions.
- Joe Prathap P J: Placed at Sudoboat, highlighting his proficiency in innovative technology.
- Hari Krishna P A: Received dual offers from Sudoboat and Appstrail Technology, demonstrating his exceptional versatility and skills.
These placements are a testament to the department's strong placement cell and the quality of education provided. They highlight the successful transition of students from academic to professional life.
