Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow | IEEE Day 2023 | SREC
Traditions are the thread that weaves the rich tapestry of our past into the vibrant tapestry of our present. Among the cherished traditions observed by IEEE members is IEEE Day, celebrated each year on October 3rd. This date holds a special place in the hearts of IEEE Members, as it marks the historic moment in 1884 when engineers from around the world united to exchange their technical ideas. Today, this tradition lives on as IEEE members worldwide come together to commemorate this remarkable day.
On October 9th, 2023, the IEEE Student Branch at SREC brought the spirit of IEEE Day to life in a grand celebration. Our esteemed principal and IEEE Senior Member, Dr. N. R. Alamelu, graced the occasion with her presence and delivered an inspiring speech on the significance of being an IEEE member. Her words resonated deeply, igniting the flame within us to work tirelessly for our community.
The IEEE Senior members of SREC were honoured with a well-deserved memento, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the success of IEEE SREC. Their success stories serve as beacons, guiding us toward achieving excellence in both Technology and character.
And what is a celebration without a delicious cake? The day's festivities were highlighted by a delightful cake-cutting ceremony, followed by an exclusive photo session dedicated to IEEE Day 2023.
We came together on this day to celebrate our shared commitment to innovation, learning, and community building. IEEE Day 2023 at SREC was a resounding success, leaving us with a renewed sense of purpose and a stronger bond with our fellow IEEE members.
