OUR STRIKERS IN HACKATHON !
Hackathons are the best way for students to increase professional creativity by using the most innovative and modern technological solutions for the given problem statement. Though winning a hackathon brings recognition and prizes, it significantly acts as a platform for students to showcase their talents and skills to potential employers. Therefore, our students utilized the opportunity to participate in the Fit Kovai Hackathon 2023 held at Robert Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore.
Out of the 400 enrolled participants, the pre-final year team consisting of 4 members Monishaa S, Raghav Balaji, Akash & Prasanth from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, brainstormed ideas, coded and tested their solution, making sure that it met the criteria and requirements of the problem statement. Their "Vehicle Detection and Thermal Imaging of Pedestrian Crossing the Vehicle" project was the best due to its versatility and practical use in the real world. The project was aimed at the automated automobile enthusiasts' audience, helping them further upgrade their vehicle detection and pedestrian awareness. Their outstanding idea and collaborative teamwork earned them the first prize. Owing to the fact that the team was ecstatic, and their hard work and dedication paid off, they were awarded prizes, and their solution was recognized by the judges and other participants as an innovative and practical solution to a common problem.
The team SREC played a big part in the hackathon by not only finishing it with a blast but also taking over the pedestal by bagging third and fourth place. A team from the department of Computer Science and Engineering (Mohit M B, Ajaykumar A, Anisha S, Houshic B) with their bright and innovative ideas about Vehicle Traffic and Object Detection impressed the judges and bagged third place in the hackathon. To counter the big wave of automation that the world is going to be faced with, the students came up with the idea that provides a foothold for the generations to come to brace themselves with the impactful surge of technological advancements.
The fourth place was again bagged by our students from the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (Jim, Jenarthanan, Pavithran, Muzammil) on the topic - Object Detection for the Real-World Application in the Field of Vehicle Detection. Their pioneering solution captured the audience's and the judge's favour and got them their place.
Employers are always looking for students who can develop creative and innovative solutions to real-world problems, and winning a hackathon is an excellent way to demonstrate this. It takes hard work, dedication, and innovative thinking to create a solution that stands out among the many other teams. This group of students from our institution have proved that they have what it takes to succeed in the technological industry and have set an excellent example for others to follow.
