"Rekindling the Past, Embracing the Future"
The aching and wistful affection for a period in the past, the gala, and the fun that was wandering solo in the hearts of each alumnus were fulfilled in one day and in one place by just recreating memories and manifesting the past. It was a graceful morning meeting hundreds of proud pillars of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, holding their hands together for more than two and half decades, and celebrating the Silver Jubilee Alumni Reunion.
On 14th July 2023, the first batch of college students celebrated 25 Years of Memories at the sprawling SREC Campus. The event unfurled its petals with a grand gathering of alumni from around the globe. The faculty, staff, and special guests were present, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia, camaraderie, and celebration.
Shri D. Lakshminarayanaswamy, the esteemed Managing Trustee, graced the occasion, expressed his delight at the reunion, and acknowledged the remarkable achievements of the alumni. He accentuated the pivotal role of SREC in nurturing talents and empowering individuals to excel in the respective fields of translational research, startups, and innovation.
The enlightenment and entertainment brought to the stage by our honourable Chief Guest Kalaimamani, Dr. G. Gnanasambandan, made the attendees giggle and glide through the mind's eye. His address was filled with insightful perspectives and inspiring anecdotes, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression.
Dr. N.R Alamelu, the beloved Principal of SREC and the patron of the AA, expressed her earnest appreciation and commended the alumni for their contributions to the alma mater. She emphasized the significance of alumni engagement and their roles in shaping the future of the institution.
Veena Ramesh, the President of the SREC Alumni Association, expressed her gratitude for their presence and acknowledged the significant roles they play in the growth and development of the college. Her words resonated with the alumni, evoking a sense of nostalgia and making everyone step into happy memories.
The Coffee Table Book "Odyssey" – a colourful composition that reflects fond memories was released by the Managing Trustee.
As a mark of gratitude and recognition, the faculty and staff members who have played an indispensable role in the college's success were honoured during the reunion. Inclusive of it, in a remarkable display of generosity, the alumni presented an endowment of Rs. 50 lakhs to the institution, furthering its commitment to supporting the college's growth and development.
This event was a telling testimony to the irrefutable fact that SREC is not just a college but a home filled with love, comfort, and support.
