Scintillating ZYGEN - 2k24 State-Level Symposium
Participants eagerly dove headfirst into the exhilarating universe of "ZYGEN 2K24," brimming with anticipation and fueled by boundless excitement! On March 22, 2024, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science played host to a remarkable state-level technical premier symposium. Imagine the excitement as 125 participants from various institutions came together, each one eager to showcase their talents in technology, innovation, management, and teamwork. From the crackling energy to the outpouring of creativity, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric throughout the day!
But what truly set the stage on fire was the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, T. Sindhuja. A Senior IT Business Application Specialist at Temenos India Private Ltd, Bengaluru, and a proud alumnus from the 2011-2015 batch, her arrival was the icing on the cake. With her insightful address, she not only captivated the audience but also left them inspired as she shared her journey and wisdom. And as she unveiled the souvenir of "ZYGEN 2K24," the day was officially set in motion, promising to be a memory to cherish forever.
Paper Presentation
Various events added richness to the symposium, covering both technical and creative aspects. Dr. P. Perumal, Professor, Department of CSE at SREC, led the paper presentation segment, featuring 24 papers on topics like IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. Two standout papers were awarded for their excellence and innovation.
Webathon
In the Webathon event, participants showcased their web designing skills with on-the-spot challenges focused on front-end development. Dr. N. Suresh Kumar, Associate Professor/IT, oversaw the competition, with eight teams competing for top honours. Cash rewards were awarded to the two most outstanding teams - Techzen from SNS College Of Technology, Coimbatore, claimed the 1st prize with their impressive Portfolio Website. Code Crakers, also from SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore, secured the 2nd prize with their outstanding Portfolio Website.

Code Relay
Code Relay, a technical event, is a collaborative programming challenge where a team of developers works together to solve a problem or implement a feature. Each team member takes turns writing a portion of the code, building upon the work of the previous developer, similar to passing a baton in a relay race. This process continues until the code is complete, with every member contributing their unique skills and expertise. Code Relay fosters collaboration, communication, and teamwork among developers. Cash awards were granted to the top two teams, with Code Crusaders from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, consisting of Bharathi. R, Sindhu. S, Dhivya Nethra. J, and Sneha. V. Meanwhile, the 2nd prize was awarded to Code Ninjas, also from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, with team members R. V. Dhanush, E. Antony Praveen, S. Hrithick Ramkumar, and S. Jaisurya. Mrs. S. Birundha, AP/CSE, SREC, served as the event judge.
Technical Quiz
In the technical quiz, teams from different colleges competed for the top positions. The 1st prize was won by Team Tech Allies from Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, while the 2nd prize was secured by Team Hocus Pocus from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore.

The non-technical events included Best Manager, Photography, Gaming (BGMI), and Meme Creation. Seven teams participated in the BGMI event, and cash prizes were awarded to the winners. Photography showcased on-the-spot photos of participants, with cash prizes given to the top winners out of 40 participants. The Best Manager event had six finalist teams, with cash awards presented to the winners. Similarly, in the Meme Creation event, four finalist teams competed, with cash awards given to the winners. Rakshitha S from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, secured the 1st prize in the Photography event, while Thanuja K S from NGP Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, claimed the 1st prize in the Meme Creation event.
