UNITING PASSION AND PURPOSE – THE LAUNCH OF ASSOCIATIONS
An association is organic rather than mechanical in its nature: it is not a structure but a plant. It takes root and grows, it flowers, wilts, and dies, scattering the seeds from which other associations will bloom in their turn.

ON THE DIAS
A new chapter, a new adventure; A celebration of diversity, a celebration of unity; A grand opening, a grander vision. Welcome to a new era of excellence where we encourage, promote, and advance interdisciplinary cooperation amongst the students through various associations of our department. We, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, inaugurated the associations of our department on September 25th, 2023, along with the introduction of the office bearers for the year 2022-23. The associations associated with our department are the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), Biomedical Engineering Society of India (BMESI), BIOELIXIRZ, and Biomedical Social Outreach Club (BMSOC).
The inauguration took shape as the flame flared, artfully infusing tradition with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms. S. Suki Melvina, the chairperson of BMESI.
The honourable chief guest of the day was Mr. R. GUNASEELAN, our proud alumnus, Senior Engineer- Customer Support, Endoscopy Systems Division, Fujifilm India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. His career exemplifies a unique synthesis of excellent education, career achievement, and significant leadership that has left a long-lasting impression on the Biomedical sector. He spoke about the hopes of those who were looking for work and shared his experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering. A brief introduction about the associations was given by Mr. R. Tharun, Treasurer of BIOELIXIRZ. The office bearers of all the clubs were introduced along with their executive members for this academic year by Ms. M. Sridevi, the secretary of BMSOC. The best young achievers were honoured for their accomplishments, whose hard efforts in the area of education have opened doors for young people to flourish. The visual depiction of accomplishments on display served as a highlight in all our memories as “Memory is the only diary that we all can carry with us.”
A vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Priyadharshini S of the 3rd year BME. That was a great, grand, and successful inauguration organized by our department. We can guarantee that the Department of Biomedical Engineering, along with the related associations, will plan future activities to instruct, direct, and amuse fellow members, laying the foundation for amazing active learning that will benefit future pursuits.
