Why is there a sudden surge in Electric vehicles?

Why is there a sudden surge in Electric vehicles?

Kick-starting the day in your motor vehicle.

Getting stuck in a wild traffic.

The vehicles are lined-up behind you, screaming its heart out with horn sounds.

The vehicle ahead of you is raising its acceleration, and the engine from the motor vehicle speaks volumes about fuel usage, spreading pollution.

Standing amidst the fuss, looking at your watch and thinking of when you will reach your destination, suddenly, you get suffocated in the air pollution that affects you beneath your helmet. Beside the polluting vehicle, you spot electric cars standing along in the same traffic, And on the other side of the road, you notice electrical scooters and cars driving their way.

What do you think about it? What made people quickly switch ON to electric cars and scooters? Come, let us see the factors one by one.

A frequent increase in fuel costs for motor vehicles is the primary factor that leads people to shift to electric vehicles, which need only electricity.

Do you think electric vehicles are worth buying?

Electric vehicles are much better than those powered by ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). Electric vehicles have lesser moving parts than motor vehicles, like high-capacity batteries with cutting-edge technology. EVs are worth buying for short & long commute as it reduces commute cost. And electric vehicles are going to be the future of the planet.

Everyone says that EVs are eco-friendly, but in which way is it?

Electrical Vehicles are eco-friendly; they don't produce noise, and air pollution as motor vehicles do by consuming fuel.

Isn't the maintenance cost of an EV too high?

Electric Vehicles require less maintenance, and it doesn't need frequent attention since it has fewer parts like battery motors and other associated electronic components. Compared to motor vehicles, electric vehicles require less maintenance.

What if my vehicle falls out of charge in the middle of my drive?

There will be signs of batteries showing up, and also, there will be charging stations on the roads, just like fuel and gas stations. Currently, there are 133 charging stations in TamilNadu; the government has sanctioned 250+ stations. And declared charging stations will be located for every 25 km on roads and highways, which will be 3 km away from electrical substations.

Also, you can charge your vehicle at home, which will be hassle-free for your commute.

How long can you go in an Electric Vehicle?

A recent incident happened in Qatar. The gang of 4 football fans started in South Wales, London, and drove 3,800 miles in an MG4 car. They have crossed 17 countries in 18 days to cheer for the Wales Team in FIFA World Cup 2022.

Tax benefits for Electric Vehicles

EV buyers can save money. The government of TamilNadu declares a 100% road tax exemption for electric vehicles. The transport department has proposed to extend the same till 2025.

Electrical Vehicle owners can avail of the deduction for interest payments up to Rs 1,50,000 for vehicle loans under Section 80EEB.

The adoption of E-mobility can bring a change in the world. But let us take one step at a time. Educating the people is the right tool to create a revolution and spread awareness of how electric vehicles fight against climate change, the rising primary concern.
