Lawrence and Mayo (L&M), a global leader and pioneers in the eyewear industry are well known for their excellence in the ophthalmic optician division. Through its technical development service center’s, ‘LYNX’ was founded, which undertakes projects in manufacture and supply of surveying and testing equipment in India, dealing in surveying instruments and drones, etc., LYNX is also specialized in drone training and conducts certification courses for promising candidates in the categories of multi-Rotor and Fixed Wing drone Pilots.
LYNX - L&M has signed an MoU with Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, (SREC) Coimbatore. The MoU was signed by the Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Thiru. V. Ramakrishna and Dr. Vivek Mendonsa, Director - Marketing, LYNX - L&M. The Drone Academy is to be established at SREC campus as a result of this MoU that will enable candidates to be trained as per DGCA norms to avail the Drone Pilot License.
The scope of this MoU will enable students and faculty members to get involved in projects related to Aerial Surveillance, Disaster Management, Agriculture applications, etc. The eligibility of taking up courses at the training academy is only a 10th pass and two variety of courses in the micro and small category are introduced - further to be updated with more courses, as per the industry requirements.
