SLB headquarters in Houston, USA and
Technology center at Coimbatore, is a global technology company that drives
energy innovation. The company pioneers in innovating oil and gas, delivering
digital at scale, decarbonizing industries, and developing and scaling new
energy systems that accelerate the energy transition. Slb has established an
elastomer seal test facility at the Department of Nanoscience and Technology,
Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. The purpose of this
facility is to evaluate the aging properties of elastomer seals through joint
collaborative expertise. Dr. N. R. Alamelu, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna
Engineering College extended a hearty welcome to the delegation from slb and to
the students. “We have been associated with slb over the past eight years in
the domains of Nanotechnology and advanced materials. We jointly explore for a
scaled-up facility for both polymers and elastomers, with a strong potential
for research and development in specific areas including nanocomposite
elastomers for sealant application”, she added. The chief guest Shri.
Veerabathraswamy Kandasamy, CMI Center Manager, Slb inaugurated the elastomer
lab and said: “Our industry has a vital role to play in the global energy
transition, and SLB is evolving for that exciting future. Our portfolio of
Transition Technologies can reduce the Global carbon footprint and accelerate
the path to net zero”. Shri. R. Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons
Charitable Trust presided over the inaugural ceremony and congratulated the
entire team for setting up the joint facility. Shri. Arulmani Ramasamy,
Principal Welding Engineer, Slb, Shri. Kiruthika Thamburaj, Technology Manager
– V&M, Slb and Shri. M. Ganesh, Adviser – Industry Institute Interface of
SREC felicitated the gathering. The addresses initiated the intellect on innovative
technologies among the students and young researchers. Dr. Moorthi Pichumani,
Professor at the Department of Nano Science and Technology thanked all the
delegates and guests.
