Slb has established an elastomer seal test facility at the Department of Nanoscience and Technology, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. The purpose of this facility is to evaluate the aging properties of elastomer seals through joint collaborative expertise. Dr. N. R. Alamelu, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College extended a hearty welcome to the delegation from slb and to the students. “We have been associated with slb over the past eight years in the domains of Nanotechnology and advanced materials. We jointly explore for a scaled-up facility for both polymers and elastomers, with a strong potential for research and development in specific areas including nanocomposite elastomers for sealant application”, she added. The chief guest Shri. Veerabathraswamy Kandasamy, CMI Center Manager, Slb inaugurated the elastomer lab and said: “Our industry has a vital role to play in the global energy transition, and SLB is evolving for that exciting future. Our portfolio of Transition Technologies can reduce the Global carbon footprint and accelerate the path to net zero”. Shri. R. Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust presided over the inaugural ceremony and congratulated the entire team for setting up the joint facility. Shri. Arulmani Ramasamy, Principal Welding Engineer, Slb, Shri. Kiruthika Thamburaj, Technology Manager – V&M, Slb and Shri. M. Ganesh, Adviser – Industry Institute Interface of SREC felicitated the gathering. The addresses initiated the intellect on innovative technologies among the students and young researchers. Dr. Moorthi Pichumani, Professor at the Department of Nano Science and Technology thanked all the delegates and guests.
