Library Rules and Regulations


Membership is open to all the Faculty, Staff, Research Scholars and Students of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

8.30 am to 6.30 pm


8.30 am to 5.30 pm


9 am to 3.30 pm

Holidays Detail

The Library will remain closed on all Government Holiday/other holidays. The timings and days of operation shall undergo changes as per the need of the College.

Note: Additional two books is issued to those students who secure a CGPA 8.5 and above. The HOD can recommend the list to the library through the Principal.

Members are responsible for all the books borrowed on their cards.

All final year student members should get a “No Dues Certificate” from the Library.

Similarly, the staff members who intend to leave the Institution should settle all the dues including the ID cards and obtain a No Dues Certificate (NOC) from the Librarian.

Loss of ID Cards

Loss of ID cards should be reported immediately to the library so as to block the account.

Lending Of Books, Journals and Magazines

Renewal of books

: 30 days (2 times permitted)

Reference Books & Journals & Magazines

: Students 3 days and Staff 7 days

Book Bank

: 6 books issued to students under Reserved Category – 180 days

Members, before leaving the counter, must check whether the books they intend to borrow are in good condition; any damage/marking should be immediately reported to the Librarian failing which the member to whom the book was issued will be held responsible.

Books that are in special demand shall be lent for shorter periods as may be necessary, and books lent may be recalled any time, if required.

Absence will not be accepted as an excuse for the delay in the return/renewal of books.

Encyclopedias, Hand Books, Dictionaries, and Back Volumes will not be issued and it is only for reference.

Over Due Charges (Late Fee)

Members are advised to return/renew the books on or before the due date marked on the book, failing which a overdue charges will be collected.

Loss of Books

Loss of books should be informed to librarian immediately.

Lost books can be replaced by the user with new edition if the same edition not available with overdue fine.

If Lost Books can’t able purchase by Borrower and have to pay five times of the book cost + overdue fine for lost books.


All members should display their identity cards prominently, and it should be produced , if required.

Personal books, files and Hardbound materials and other articles (except a small note book or loose sheets of papers) are not allowed inside the library. Members have to deposit their personal belongings at the deposit counter near the entrance.

Silence should be strictly observed inside the library.

Use of mobile phones inside the library is prohibited.

The members are accountable for any damage caused by them to the books or other College properties. If so, they will be required to replace the book or other damaged material.

Misbehaviour in the library will lead serious disciplinary action.

Any marking or writing in the books is strictly prohibited. If any damage/marking is found, the concerned member should replace the book.
